Interview to SONS OF APOLLO for “Leones Sin Jaula” by
Ariel Terreni
1. How did you conceive the idea of 'sons of apollo'? Which were your main influences?
It started with Mike & Derek, they had a band called PSMS with Billy and Tony MacAlpine, they invited me for the next album to include vocals but shortly after I joined, they replaced Tony with Bumblefoot. It was no longer PSMS (Portnoy, Sheehan, MacAlpine, Sherinian) so a new name and concept was born!

2. Taking into account that everyone of you have their own influences, how did you deal with the production process?
2. Taking into account that everyone of you have their own influences, how did you deal with the production process?
It was easy, we all knew what was expected of us so we went in grabbing all the influences we wanted to be the main source of our sound. We used Jerry Guidroz to track drums as Mike has used for years, Brent Woods to track my vocals and the great Jay Ruston to mix. It was an easy process overall to get the results we were reaching for.
3. As regards 'psychotic symphony', could you describe the concept behind the music to owr readers?

tus lectores?
We are a hard rock band with Prog, Metal and Classic Rock tendencies…most think we’re chasing the Prog thing but that's only a fraction of who and what we are. One thing I wanted to make sure we had was hooks, things that people could sing along to in the end.
4. What do you expect from your show in Buenos Aires and the rest ir the tour?

I expect the crowds to be loud, wild and passionate…the show is upbeat and full of energy so I know it will be a shared electricity between us.
5. All of you are currently involved in different musical proyects, which are your future plans for 'sons of apollo'?

We will be going straight back in to make the 2nd album and continue building the brand, this is a real band, not just a project or experiment. Everyone is committed to this continuing to grow.

experimento. Todo está comprometido para continuar el crecimiento.
